Website Winnipeg Folk Festival
Deadline: January 31, 2025
Prairie Outdoor Exhibition Application Information:
The Winnipeg Folk Fest will take place July 10-13, 2025 in Birds Hill Provincial Park. Be a part of the Prairie Outdoor Exhibition — an interactive outdoor gallery. We look for visual artists to exhibit their work in this beautiful natural setting and experience a truly unique outdoor gallery. Here’s your chance to create something that will inspire and engage our audience!
What’s your favourite Folk Fest memory? What will the festival look like in the future? Our theme for 2025 is the 50th Festival! This year’s artwork features the modern interpretation of the Winnipeg Folk Festival’s classic banjo celebrating the tradition of music, community, and the continuation of this annual celebration that we love.
We invite you to submit proposals that explore and celebrate the theme as well as other project ideas that would be positive additions to the site. Let the history and traditions of the Festival inspire you.
Work can be installed in open fields, trees, tents, or on fences. Considerations should include safety, ease of installation and removal, lasting impact on the natural environment, and the ability of the work to withstand sun, wind, rain, and curious patrons/children. Artists are responsible for installing and removing work.
