Current Students: Welcome to the Spring 2020 session of The Art of Managing Your Career. We are happy you are participating in this term of the class. I’m sure it will be an amazing experience for you!
For your records our classes will be 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on the following dates:
March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 // April 7, 14, 21, 28 // May 5, 12, 19, 26 // (June 2 is a backup date)
A reminder on payments: we prefer that the course be paid for by the first class, $200 + Creative Manitoba membership (membership costs range from $15-$25, please check our website if you’d like to see what yours will cost). If you’re already a member and have paid for the course, please disregard! Payment is due no later than the beginning of the 2nd class. We take payment by cash, cheque or credit at our office, credit online or over the phone, or cheque through the mail. Please contact us in advance if you are unable to do so.
A note on refunds: If you find that your schedule is busy and you do not think that you will be able to devote proper time to AMYC, please let us know if you would like a refund. After the first class, a refund less a $50 admin fee will be provided up to the start of the third class. After the start of the third class, no refunds will be given. Your payment can be used towards a future AMYC session that fits your schedule.
Location, etc: Please arrive between 6-6:15 pm on March 3rd on the 4th floor – 245 McDermot for our first class. You can take the stairs up at the Pan Am Boxing Gym entrance at the corner of McDermot Ave and Arthur St; however, there is also elevator access through our Arthur Street door (the one with the Creative Manitoba sign over the door). There is no parking lot at our building; however, parking is free on the street.
As we are downtown and there may be Jets games or concerts. Please prepare to leave your house early if driving on those nights and for parking to be a bit tricky.
Course Content: There are 13 classes total, and each one comes with a downloadable module. This curriculum and course notes for each class will be provided to you through this new online learning platform. The downloadable modules are available in .pdf form in the Course Curriculum found below! They are available to you to print off at your leisure, or use through your laptops or tablets in class.
The class will be very focused on collaboration, participation and group work, while still having weekly individual assignments and homework. Please let Heather and the Training Programs Manager (Rachel) know ahead of time if you will not be able to attend certain classes. It is permissible to be absent for the odd class, but if too many are missed, then you will not get the full AMYC experience.
