The European Union Short Film Festival (EUSFF), will take place in Winnipeg from May 23–26, 2026, as part of a special multi-city edition presented in Ottawa, Montréal, Winnipeg, and Québec City.
Following more than a decade of success in Ottawa and a well-received expansion into Montréal, this year marks the Festival’s first edition in Winnipeg. We are very excited about the opportunity to connect with and contribute to the city’s vibrant film and arts community while fostering new cultural partnerships across Canada.
The 2026 programme features 27 short films from across the European Union, presented over four curated evenings of screenings. The selection highlights the diversity of contemporary European storytelling through a wide range of genres, themes, and artistic perspectives. Alongside the screenings, participating EU Member States will also present Flavours of Europe, an on-site showcase of culinary offerings and cultural displays that celebrate Europe’s rich cultural heritage beyond the screen.
This edition carries particular significance as it takes place during Europe Month and forms part of the celebrations marking the 50th Anniversary of the Delegation of the European Union to Canada, underscoring the longstanding cultural partnership between Canada and the European Union.
A reception is scheduled for our closing evening on Tuesday, May 26 at 5:00 PM.
Admission is free for all four screenings; however, reservations are required and can be made through the following link:
