SUMMARY:So You Want to Record a Comedy Album - with Howl & Roar Records
DESCRIPTION:ONLINE – Nov 24\, 2026 6 – 7:30pm CDT\nBrought to you in partnership with the Winnipeg Comedy Festival \nRecording is more accessible to indie artists than ever\, but with accessibility comes competition. Take the next step in your comedy career with confidence! \nWith this workshop\, you will set yourself up for success\, stand out from the crowd\, and maybe even make a little money. Melanie Dahling and Allison Dore will walk you through best practices (both before and after recording)\, discuss the pros and cons of working independently vs with a label\, and answer your questions… even some you didn’t know you had! \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Howl & Roar Records\nHowl & Roar Records was born out of a desire to buck industry standards. Their goal is to help artists make professional quality content- while feeling empowered to express themselves and think outside the box. They are always looking for unique voices and fresh perspectives\, giving priority to women\, BIPOC\, and queer performers. \nFrom their first recording with Kate Davis in 2018\, they’ve made albums across North America\, learning lessons and picking up new team members along the way. Sometimes\,  wondering if they’d have come this far with their first name: Mnemosyne Records. But that’s a story for another time… \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is free and will be open until 5pm CDT on Nov 24\, 2026. \nWhen you register\, a Zoom link will be sent to your inbox. If you think you haven’t received the zoom link\, please check your spam or junk email folders.
