This workshop takes a technical approach to interpretation of music by breaking down the elements that make a vocal performance unique and engaging. How do you break free of your natural stylistic tendencies and try something new? What techniques might you use singing different styles of music? If you’re a little bit w and want to learn to sing jazz, or you always sound like a musical theatre singer and want to be a pop star, you can learn the first steps to explore style and break into a new way of singing. We will explore techniques that will allow you to be more creative and bold with your choices as a vocalist and help you take the next step as a vocal performer.

Simon Miron is a two spirited, franco-Métis, multi-disciplinary artist, from Treaty One Territory. They are an award-winning director and theatre actor with over 20 years of experience working in Canadian theatre. They hold a master’s degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and also studied in Edmonton, Toronto and The Stratford Festival.
