Artist Boot Camp: Grant Writing with Liz Barron – Part 2: Résumés and Budgets

Wednesday, January 22 |  7 to 9:30 pm  |  Online  | FREE

How would you define yourself and your arts practice? In what way do you best align your résumé with the goals in your grant proposal? Further to that, how do you set a realistic budget for your project?

In part two of this grant writing series, you will learn how to put together a résumé and budget for your grant application that best reflects your arts practice and your upcoming plans. There will be important discussions about what to do and what not to do and how to select the best possible support materials. Get yourself organized and apply for funding to support your practice! Attend and learn the ropes from an experienced grant writer- you need not have attended the first workshop to attend this one.

Within a couple of weeks of broadcast, the workshop will be available with captioning at mawa.ca/videos/professional-advice.

Liz Barron has worked in the arts for 30 years. She started her cultural career at Plug In ICA, where she met Louise Ogemah and Debra Prince, who invited her to join them in creating Urban Shaman Gallery. She is also a founding member of the Harbour Collective, which engages in research, programming and service delivery for Indigenous filmmakers, media artists and visual artists. She has decades of grantwriting experience, for artists and organizations, and has served on numerous arts award juries. Barron is a member of the Manitoba Métis Federation and a member of the Catfish Local, Winnipeg.
