SUMMARY:Loom Beaded Earring Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In this 6 hour workshop you will learn how to plan out a pattern\, choose beads\, prepare the loom\, make a pair of earrings\, remove from the loom and finish them off. \nThe instructor will give the recommended size to work with based on the time allotted for this workshop. If you choose to make a larger or more detailed pair of earrings and are unable to complete them in time\, you are able to rent a loom and buy some extra beads to take home. \nYou will have multiple bead options available in various shapes\, colours\, sizes and finishes. \nAll materials are included: Looms\, various beads\, paper and markers for planning patterns\, tools\, etc. \nThere will be 30 minutes for lunch (bring your own bag lunch please). \nAbout the Instructor: \nShanelle St. Hilaire (she/they) is a Red River Métis beader from Treaty One Territory Winnipeg Manitoba. Her beadwork is contemporary\, sleek\, colourful and for all! Most of their work is beadwoven using a beading loom\, the imagery they often work is very geometric using circles to represent moons. Space imagery such as the solar system and stars has more recently made it’s way into their beadwork. They also use the traditional Ceinture Flechee pattern and reinvent it to honour her metis culture and community. In 2022 St. Hilaire began loom beading practicing to make their own large-scale beaded Ceinture Fléchée which quickly blossomed into a deep love and obsession with beading and is now a part of her daily practice. They started this business as wearable art and expression of self and culture is very important to them. \nRegistration Information: \n$25 Supply Fee \n$125 Regular Registration (total fee $150) \n$115 MCML Discounted Registration (total fee $140)

SUMMARY:Intrepid
DESCRIPTION:An action-packed spy thriller recounting one of Winnipeg’s greatest heroes\, William Stephenson\, who became Churchill’s spymaster and the inspiration for James Bond. It’s 1940 and the fate of the free world depends on a nearly impossible plan to trick the United States into joining World War II and stopping Nazi plans for world domination. \nEmploying espionage\, propaganda and the ageless art of seduction from atop Rockefeller Center in New York\, Stephenson schemes to manipulate Roosevelt\, destroy the Nazis’ nuclear ambitions\, and assassinate the German intelligence chief Reinhard Heydrich aka ‘The Man with the Iron Heart’. \nInspired by true events\, Alex Poch-Goldin weaves 1940s song and dance into an electrifying tale of intrigue\, danger and double-crossing. \nShows generally begin at 7:30pm or 2:00pm depending on the date. See website for specific details.

SUMMARY:Misery
DESCRIPTION:When famous author Paul Sheldon regains consciousness following a car wreck\, he’s bedridden in an isolated home. By a stroke of luck\, the woman who saved him is both a nurse and his “number one fan”. But soon\, Annie’s mild-mannered veneer wears thin\, and Paul realizes his fate is tied to a woman who is obsessively plotting to keep him to herself. \nAs only he can do\, Stephen King builds chilling tension as Annie’s escalating demands threaten to send Paul hurtling toward an unhappy ending. The 1990 film version of Misery introduced a generation to Annie Wilkes. Today\, she returns to a society just as obsessed with our heroes. Turns out\, misery does love company. \nShows generally begin at 7:30pm or 2:00pm depending on the date. See website for specific details.

SUMMARY:fareWel
DESCRIPTION:There’s a cry for change on Partridge Crop Reserve. The welfare cheques are late – if they’re coming at all – the Chief is pushing his luck in Vegas (again) and a restless desperation has led to rumblings of self-government. There’s a lot at stake and establishing a new system without real change feels like building a house on a crumbling foundation. Can this spirited group of ordinary Joes ditch the fareWel for good and take control of their lives? \nCrackling with Ian Ross’s trademark wit and warmth\, this dark comedy about life and politics on a Reserve was awarded the 1997 Governor General’s Award for Drama. \nShows generally begin at 7:30pm or 2:00pm depending on the date.
