SUMMARY:Beading Métis Resurgence
DESCRIPTION:Winnipeg\, MB – Gallery 1C03\, the campus art gallery of the University of Winnipeg\, is pleased to present Beading Métis Resurgence\, an exhibition and robust series of free public events or “activations” that expand the practice of and critical discourse around contemporary Red River Métis beadwork\, an artform that until recently has not received due regard. This exhibition honours Krauchi’s legacy as a matriarch who has guided the resurgence of Métis beadwork by creating magnificent pieces seen in national and international museums and exhibits.
