The Michael Langham Workshop for Classical Direction

The Michael Langham Workshop offers our country’s most promising directors an unmatched opportunity to develop skills that will enable them to master the unique demands of the classical repertoire. The Michael Langham Workshop is an opportunity for emerging directors to interact with their fellows while exploring and having access to all the aspects of a large repertory theatre.

This call is for theatre directors whose primary task will be assistant directing one of the plays in the Festival’s 2020 season. The Festival’s 2020 season begins in February with the final openings in August. Assistant directors are usually required for 8 to 16 weeks within that timeframe. Participants may be given the opportunity to choose a piece of classical text for the Directors’ Workshop Presentation slated for the fall of 2020. Workshop participants receive a fee, travel costs and a housing subsidy.
