Website Gimli Film Festival
deadline: April 15, 2021
While the pandemic situation continues to unfold across Manitoba, Canada and beyond, the Gimli Film Festival is committed to continue our important programming for Manitoba audiences from July 21 to 25, 2021. While much is still uncertain about the coming summer, GFF is planning for a variety of online and socially-distanced in-person events, as is deemed safe to do so by July 2021.
As always, GFF will provide a strong focus on Manitoba-made films, and as such Manitoba Short Film submissions are once again free of charge. GFF Filmmaker Alumni are also permitted to submit for free. If you are a GFF Alumni, please contact email@example.com for your submission fee waiver code.
GFF encourages submissions of any length, genre, duration or country to submit to our annual open call. In 2021, GFF will once again be offering a special focus on films from the Circumpolar Nations, as well as dedicated series for Indigenous-Driven Films, Woman-Driven Films, BIPOC Films, Social Justice Issues and Environmental Films. We especially encourage projects that fit these programming mandates to apply!
All films submitted will be screened by our programming team and all films accepted will be paid a base artist fee as dictated by the current Independent Media Arts Alliance Fee Schedule *OR* the fee/percentage agreed upon by the filmmaker/distributor:
*To apply to be a part of RBC’s $10,000 Emerging Filmmaker Pitch Competition you must be a Manitoba resident and apply online here:
**Please note, the Gimli Film Festival DOES NOT offer refunds once a film submission fee has been paid.**
