Volunteer – Winnipeg Level One Band Festival

The Manitoba Band Association festivals are a tradition that dates back to 1976. Over the past 40+ years, the Family of Festivals has grown to include the Concert Band Festival, Jazz Band Festival, and the Level One Festival.

Winnipeg Level One Festival Volunteer Roles April 22-24, 2025

Setup:

  • Purpose: Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of the Festival
  • Shifts: Monday (1:00pm – 5:00pm)
  • Time Requirement: minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Volunteers Required per shift: 10 per shift

Admission/Registration:

  • Purpose: Ensure a welcoming and efficient experience for audience members, band directors, and band members.
  • Shifts: Tuesday: (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Wednesday: (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Thursday (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm)
  • Time Requirement: minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Sitting for long periods. Near the main entrance where doors are frequently open. Please dress appropriately for cold weather.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Lunch and Dinner will be provided on site, and are to be consumed as time in your schedule allows. Water filling stations are available. Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Volunteers Required per shift: 2 per shift

Storage to Warm Up:

  • Purpose:
  • Ensure a smooth and efficient flow for the festival, and provide essential support to the directors and participants.
  • Shifts: Tuesday: (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Wednesday: (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Thursday:(8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm)
  • Time Requirement: minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Lunch will be provided on site, and is to be consumed as time in your schedule allows. Water filling stations are available. Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Volunteers Required per shift: 2 per shift

Warm Up Room to Stage:

  • Purpose: Ensure a smooth and efficient flow for the festival, and provide essential support to the MC, directors, and participants.
  • Shifts: Tuesday: (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Wednesday (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Thursday (8:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm)
  • Time Requirement: minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Lunch will be provided on site, and is to be consumed as time in your schedule allows. Water filling stations are available. Please bring your own water bottle.

  • Purpose: Ensure a smooth and efficient flow for the festival, and provide essential support to the MC, directors, and participants.
  • Shifts: Tuesday (9:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 5:30pm), Wednesday (9:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 5:30pm), Thursday (9:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 5:30pm)
  • Time Requirement: minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Lunch will be provided on site, and is to be consumed as time in your schedule allows. Water filling stations are available. Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Volunteers Required per shift:1 per shift

Clinic Room Coordinator:

  • Purpose: Ensure a smooth and efficient flow for the festival, and provide essential support to
    directors, and participants.
  • Shifts: Tuesday (8:45am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Wednesday (8:45am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Thursday (8:45am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm).
  • Time Requirement: Minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Lunch will be provided on site, and is to be consumed as time in your schedule allows. Water filling stations are available. Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Volunteers required per shift:1 per shift

  • Shifts: Tuesday (9:30am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Wednesday (9:30am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm), Thursday (9:30am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 6:00pm).
  • Time Requirement: minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Lunch will be provided on site, and is to be consumed as time in your schedule allows. Water filling stations are available. Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Volunteers Required per shift:1 per shift

Tear Down:

  • Purpose: Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of the Festival
  • Shifts: Thursday: 4:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Time Requirement: minimum 1 shift
  • Working Conditions: Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • Ample free parking is available on site.
  • Volunteers Required per shift: 7 per shift
