Successful applicants are awarded a one-year Annual Access Fee membership to equipment and editing facilities, free admission to a limited amount of Video Pool workshops and an opportunity to publicly present the work created over the year.
The Media Arts Residency supports the creation of new, independent media art works. Eligible projects include video, sound or web based art, VR & Motion Capture, installation or performance works that include a media art component, physical computing, robotic or experimental electronic art. Video Pool gives funding priority to both experimental and emerging art practices. Although eligible, traditional narrative, dramatic or documentary projects are less likely to be awarded funds. See below for program guidelines. Fund recipients have the option to exhibit their work in POOLSIDE GALLERY and / or VP’s new presentation venue.
The Media Arts Residency is made of up two categories:
Category I: Designed for artists who have not yet produced or exhibited a new media work in a professional context. Artists from other disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Category II: For artists who have established a background in media arts.
