Queerious | 2SLGBTQIA+ Art Exhibition

Website Queerious

Deadline: May 4, 2025

Queerious is an annual curated art exhibition that showcases the talented 2SLGBTQIA+ artists from Winnipeg and Manitoba.

This year’s theme of serenity and harmony is based off of the blue/indigo stripe of the original Rainbow Pride flag, designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978. Both serenity and harmony have connotations of peace and calmness. The gentle splash of water lapping against the shore, the wind whispering through the trees, the contented silence between friends enjoying each other’s company. But these themes also bring to mind the idea of assuredness or a sense of purpose, being confident with oneself, being proud of yourself. As well as a sense of unity within community and being aligned towards the same goal. What does serenity and harmony mean to you?

Queerious is about representing 2SLGBTQIA+ artists in Winnipeg and Manitoba and the work they make. If your work doesn’t fit into the above theme, please still submit! You do not need to make new work to submit.

Any medium accepted, two- or three-dimensional. With a limit of 5 submissions per artist. The exhibition will be at The Edge Gallery (611 Main Street) from May 23 – June 3, 2025. Please send high quality images of your work (jpeg or png), with the title of the work, year it was made, medium, and dimensions, and a short artist bio of 100-200 words to queerious.queries@gmail.com. Please include your pronouns and how you identify with your submission.

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT May 4, 2025.
