Administrative Assistant:
Term Position – Weekdays, 30 hours per week
Start Date: January 15, 2025
Location: 2-88 St. Anne’s Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba

About Us:
The Winnipeg Music Festival (WMF) and the Associated Manitoba Arts Festivals (AMAF) are charitable nonprofit organizations with a shared commitment to fostering arts and culture in Manitoba. WMF celebrates amateur music-making of all ages and experience levels, creating a welcoming environment for musical growth. Additionally, WMF provides administrative support to AMAF member festivals and organizes the AMAF Provincial Music and Arts Festival each May.

Our small, collaborative team operates in a casual-dress, steady-paced environment in Old St. Vital. Preparing for several large events throughout the year brings variety to our workdays, ensuring a dynamic and rewarding workplace experience.

About the Role:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will work closely with the Executive Director and serve as the first point of contact for participants, teachers, parents, and festival organizers. We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic individual eager to contribute to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and update documents
  • Perform data entry and email management
  • Handle filing and general organization
  • Answer phone calls and greet visitors
  • Support events at the Winnipeg Music Festival office and event locations

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Professionalism, organization, friendliness, and patience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook, and Access)
  • Comfort working in an open-office environment

Assets (not required):

  • Background in classical music
  • Bookkeeping experience

Some evening and weekend availability may be necessary during events such as the Winnipeg Music Festival, the AMAF Provincial Music and Arts Festival, as well as the Annual General Meeting for each organization.

Compensation:
Salary is negotiable, ranging from $18 to $22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Manitoba Employment Standards will be followed.
