WCD is looking for a Front of House/House Manager.

Job Title: House Manager (hourly)
Organization: Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers
This position reports to the Administrator and also works with the Stage Manager and Artistic Director.

Location: 204-211 Bannatyne Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 3P2

House Manager key responsibilities:

  • To train and supervise volunteers for each performance to usher patrons, hand out programs, and supervise the studio and public spaces;
  • To provide a welcoming environment to all visitors to the theatre;
  • To uphold the highest standard of customer service;
  • To assist in ensuring the safety and comfort of members of the public and staff.
  • To deal effectively with any customer problems and enquiries;
  • To be fully aware of the emergency evacuation of the theatre & Front of House areas;

The House Manager serves as a representative for WCD.

The House Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the lobby and audience seating area during the run of the show. The House Manager welcomes the public and oversees safety and comfort before, during, and immediately after the show.

This position is responsible for the safe passage of audience flow during the entire time that the audience is at the theater.

Schedule:
May 2-4 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, May 5 from 3:00 to 7 pm.
1 additional hour for training before April 27.

Requirements:

  • Keen interest in the arts & particularly WCD;
  • Friendly & warm personality;
  • Commitment to high levels of customer service, with experience of dealing with customers in person;
  • Enthusiastic team worker with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to use your initiative and prioritize tasks;
  • Basic knowledge of health & safety and/or hygiene issues is desirable;
  • Professional and positive disposition.

The position is open to applicants 18 years of age and older.

Pay: From $18 per hour
