Introduction to 3D Needle Felting

January 25 at11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Everything you need to get started with needle-felting 3D objects – animals, houses, shapes, gnomes, critters.  What to buy, safety tips, design considerations… In this course you will focus on getting to know the wool and what the needle can do, making shapes, practicing skills, adding colours and forms so that you can enjoy making them into what your imagination calls you to do.  Each student gets a kit with wool, needles and work foam.

About the Instructor

Rosemarie Péloquin is drawn to ordinary people, those who make up the wallpaper of everyday life. She starts with clouds of wool and a tiny barbed needle. From the quiet, repetitive act of needle-felting emerges portraits that evoke a familiar nostalgia and wrestle stories from all who encounter them.    Their size and material make them both accessible and vulnerable. Her work emerges from a background of design, teaching, coaching, travel, home and family. It is fuelled by a passion for discovering connections and the belief that Life’s richness is found in the ordinary and in the unexpected. She enjoys teaching needle-felting skills and introducing students to this soft, welcoming medium so that they can see their own creations come to life.

Rosemarie is featured in video-reportages on Radio-Canada, TVA and TFO 24.7, has appeared in Fiber Art Now (US) and Textile Fibre Forum (AUD) magazines, and has participated in exhibitions in Manitoba, Alberta and B.C.
