On September 11 & 12 the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library will be participating in both the Fibre Festival’s Fibre Trail (September 11 & 12) and Doors Open (September 12).

As a stop on the Fibre Trail, MCML will be hosting a two-day pop-up exhibition, Around the World with Fibre. The exhibition will feature 16 textile pieces from around the world, each piece showcasing a different textile-making technique or type of fibre.

Pop-Up Exhibition: Around the World with Fibre


Behind the Scenes Tours: Take a peek at MCML’s collections storage and what goes on behind the scenes in a museum. Tours will be led on an as needed basis with a limited number of spots available to ensure social distancing can be followed.

Indigo Dye Demonstration with Katrina Craig: Join us outside the C2 Centre for Craft as we learn how to dye textiles using indigo, as well as the traditional and historical roots of Indigo dye. Bring a t-shirt, tote bag, pillow case or any cotton textile for a chance to try out this age old natural dye process!

Masks are encouraged for the outdoor Indigo Dye Demonstration. Masks will be required to be worn while inside the C2 Centre for Craft. Hand sanitizer will be available for visitors at the entrance.
