Marketing for Memberships: Re-Building Membership Tiers

Restructuring membership tiers within an organization is an effective way to grow memberships and to build a direct focus marketing campaign to attract more artists, community members, patrons, and students to join an organization.
By assessing existing information or by building up new information within a current membership database an organization can effectively survey the needs and desires of members to determine the focus of an organization’s business model tiers moving forward. ie. How many students are in an organization and what would attract them to pay a membership fee, what added value does the organization present for its student members? If the needs and wants are not easy to determine, it is wise to build a survey of potential members within a community to learn what you may not know and it may provide more answers and ideas of how to move forward.
Although having new ideas of how to expand, it is also important to assess and determine what current staff members are capable of with the resources they have.
