Social Media Platforms – Strategy, Content and Evaluation
February 3 - February 24Free
This 4-week series of 90-minute social media workshops is geared specifically to Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) members. MAN members can register for any or all sessions. Registration is separate for each online workshop. Finally, we will use Zoom Meetings instead of Zoom Webinar to ensure a high degree of interactivity and a better learning experience.
To keep the arts front and centre in all of our work, we’re inviting artists as opening act for these sessions and we’ll ask them to participate in the workshops as well.

#1 – Social Media Strategy
Wednesday, February 3, 2021; 2 pm to 3:30 pm Central
Social media is constantly evolving. As platforms expand and new ones crop up, users shift their behaviours, attitudes, and interactions with their feeds. This means that navigating the ever-changing architecture of social media can pose a considerable challenge for organizations and businesses.
This workshop takes a look at how Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have been changing recently and how you can continue to use them to build meaningful, beneficial relationships with your audiences and your community.
#2 – Preparing Content That Engages – Part 1
Wednesday, February 10, 2 pm to 3:30 pm Central
In this practical, hands-on workshop we will examine what an effective social media presence looks and sounds like.
We’ll briefly review and then hone the skills needed to deliver great content consistently. As part of this workshop, we will demonstrate what a great Facebook, Instagram and Twitter post looks like.
#3 – Preparing Content That Engages – Part 2
Wednesday, February 17, 2 pm to 3:30 pm Central
In part 2, using examples from participants’ own social media presence when possible, we will analyze what types of content work well and what can be improved. Then, we will work together on developing a content formula that works for the majority of your posts in order to improve engagement with the posts and your page as well as improve return on investment for your organization.
#4 – How to evaluate the impact of your social media
Wednesday, February 24, 2 pm to 3:30 pm Central
Social media sites return a tremendous amount of statistical information to business page users. You’ll learn how to look at the data you receive from social networks to help you hone your social media content. We’ll use an objectives-based approach to identifying the data that matters to you and how to better understand it.
Inga will show you some simple techniques to evaluate your performance and move toward continually improving your social media efforts.
