Stars, Roots, Whispers and Winds by Jordan Miller
October 2 - October 30Free
Looking up to the stars for direction, we figure out connections of where we are going like stepping stones. Late nights, deep in thought, we dive into our souls to find the answers. There is a path, a journey that the stars hold. There is some truth to our imagination.
Greatness grows from roots, its where we originated from and how we become shaped into being. Each piece begins from where we come from–a mindset that is born into a new direction we are travelling.
Whispers come into play as an intuitive artist. Listening to the mind, trying to reflect on moments experienced. Do you talk to yourself? I talk with my art, I listen to the colours which tell me what direction the flow should be, where my next move should be. Sometimes the whispers change direction into the unknown as an experiment. Still we listen.
Winds, like gentle breezes change at moment’s notice with a quick swipe of a brush or a drop of ink. An intuitive artist changes the direction in a blink of an eye with an emotional balance, sometimes unknown.
Some parallels to 2020 exist in the work not by intention but by chance.
