Film Training Manitoba is pleased to present this two-day workshop for those interested in learning more about the make-up department on a unionized film or television production. This course is an introduction to the various positions and basic operation of an efficient make-up department. Emphasis will be on the duties, responsibilities, and teamwork involved during each phase of production; prep, shoot, and wrap.
Discussions on permit requirements for union work will also be addressed as well as the ongoing challenges associated with COVID-19 in the make-up department. This newly developed two-day workshop is for IATSE 856 makeup permittees and makeup artists wanting to work in the film industry.
Alisha Talbot is a Manitoba based Makeup Artist with over 10 years of experience working as a Makeup Artist for Film and TV. After attending Complections International now known as CMU College of Art and Design, she worked in Toronto and Winnipeg. Alisha has built her career with IATSE 856 as a daily makeup artist to now being a Head of the Makeup Department working on such productions as The Chucky Franchise, The Syfy series Channel Zero and Alisha traveled to Korea as a Makeup Artist for CBC and Radio Canada for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
