Biographical Info markiatsu (Mark Dela Cruz) is a freelance professional contemporary dance artist. He’s earned a Bachelor’s Honors Degree in Contemporary Dance from the University of Winnipeg in affiliation with the Senior Professional Program of Winnipeg’s School of Contemporary Dancers. He’s had the privilege of performing in professional projects with Drive Dance, Stephanie Ballard and the Winnipeg Dance Preservation Initiative, Gear Shifting Performance Works, Dancer’s Studio West in Calgary, Ray Films Inc., Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers and Montreal-based company Sinha danse. He performed in Robert Desrosier’s 50 Dancer Project: Timeframe for the Canada Dance Festival in Ottawa and in Harold Rheaume’s Ion for the New Blue Dance Festival in Toronto. Mark was recently in Calgary participating in the Dance Action Lab 2018 presented by Dancer’s Studio West; he performed in new works by Davida Monk and Helen Husak. His choreography was performed at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People for Losing Tides: A Watershed Awareness Gala, the School of Contemporary Dancer’s Public School Tours and Annual Choreographic Showcase: Blueprints and the General Program’s Dance Expressions.
