Calls for Submissions

Arts West Council will be sponsoring its 35th annual Artists’ Retreat in 2026. This five-day art camp is held at the Riding Mountain Conference Centre (Camp Wannukumbac) at scenic Clear Lake, Manitoba, Canada. It provides participants with an opportunity to concentrate on developing their artistic skills and goals beyond the introductory level, under the supervision of experienced professional instructors. Enrolment at the camp is limited to 40 participants.

Retreat Dates
June 14-19, 2026 – 5 days. Arrive for check-in by 6 pm Sunday, instructed classes run 9 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday.

Oil/Acrylic Painting (14 spaces) with Instructor: Opeyemi Olukotun

Water-media (12 spaces) with Instructor: Leona Herzog

Drawing (7 spaces with Instructor: Ben Davis

Printmaking (7 spaces) with Instructor: Karen Cornelius

Retreat Fees
Fee $750 includes dorm-style accommodation*, standard meals, instruction and GST. Note that Art Supplies are not included; your instructor will provide you with a list detailing the supplies you will need to bring with you for their workshop course.

A deposit of $100 must be included with your registration; details are included in both the brochure and the online entry form. Balance is due May 15th.

*Please note:

CAMPING UPDATE: There will be no Fees for Camping. RVs, trailers and campers can be accommodated on site (15 amp plug-ins). Please inform our Retreat Coordinator ahead of time if you plan to book a campsite.
