Jazz Winnipeg is looking for an enthusiastic marketing and communications specialist to support year-round promotions and communications including the annual TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival taking place June 16-21, 2026.
Position Title: Communications & Marketing Coordinator
Term: Permanent, Full-Time – 35 hours/week (9:00am to 5:00pm) *You will be required to work some evening and weekends throughout the year as well as extensive hours in the weeks leading up to and during the June festival (June 16-21, 2026)
Salary range: $40k-$45k
Trial/probation period: 420 hours worked
Location: Jazz Winnipeg Office, 007-100 Arthur Street

Position Overview
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator executes Jazz Winnipeg’s marketing and communications activities across all platforms. This role is ideal for a creative, organized, and self-directed communications professional who thrives in a dynamic arts environment. The successful candidate will be both a strong visual storyteller and an effective relationship builder, capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining brand integrity and meeting deadlines. Working closely with the Executive Director and programming team, this position plays a key role in shaping how Jazz Winnipeg connects with audiences, artists, sponsors, funders, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
Brand, Design & Creative Production
- Design and produce in-house creative materials, including year-round concert promotional
materials, annual reports, operational documents, sponsorship fulfillment reports, and fundraising
materials. - Work with creative agency team to deliver all festival branding assets
- Maintain Jazz Winnipeg’s brand identity across digital and print platforms.
- Ensure festival signage is produced and delivered according to brand guidelines.
- Ensure consistency and high production quality across all communications.
- Coordinate with external designers, printers, and vendors as required.
Festival & Concert Marketing
- Support the marketing rollout for the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival and year-round concert programming.
- Develop campaign materials including posters, digital ads, email templates, social media assets, and program guides.
- Collaborate with artists, agents, sponsors, and media partners to amplify reach and visibility.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure fulfillment and execution of all partner marketing benefits across digital and print channels.
Digital Communications & Content
- Manage and maintain the Jazz Winnipeg website, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with SEO best practices.
- Develop and implement an annual content calendar across social media, email, and web platforms.
- Write and publish engaging, SEO-informed blog and website content that celebrates artists and community stories.
- Manage Jazz Winnipeg’s social media platforms throughout the year (this function is supported by a social media specialist during the festival season).
- Support the planning and production of photo and video content during the festival capturing authentic moments that reflect the organization’s mission and cultural vibrancy
- Write and deliver email marketing campaigns, ticketing communications, and audience engagement initiatives.
- Act as staff resource for festival volunteers (social media and photography crew) Media & Public Relations
- Assist with media relations including drafting press releases, media advisories, and backgrounders.
- Coordinate press accreditation and support pre-festival media events.
- Monitor media coverage and maintain press archives.
Fundraising & Community Engagement
- Working with the Executive Director support marketing initiatives tied to fundraising campaigns (e.g., #GivingTuesday, donor appeals, sponsorship campaigns).
- Assist in storytelling and impact reporting for funders and partners.
- Ensure photo and video content is captured during concerts and festival events to document and promote programming.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Creative Communications, Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role (arts and culture experience considered an asset).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented and focused with a high level of initiative
- Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Experience managing websites (SquareSpace, WordPress or similar CMS).
- Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Basic photography, videography, and editing skills are required
- Highly organized with strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
