The Manitoba Children’s Museum is the home of playful, interactive learning experiences for kids. We offer a fun, creative, and safe opportunity for children to explore, discover, and lead their own learning journey. As a non-profit organization, ours is a unique space that nurtures the power of imagination and the spirit of self-discovery in children, their caregivers, and educators.
Position Summary
The Director position is a volunteer role on the Board of Directors. The Board provides governance overall leadership, policy development, and strategic direction to the Museum.
Prospective candidates should have leadership skills, demonstrate excellence in their own field of expertise, and be enthusiastic about volunteering their support to the Museum and its future. The Nominating Committee is seeking individuals with priority given to the following areas of expertise:
- Stewardship: Managing and retaining donors.
- Major Gifts: Securing large, significant donations.
- Corporate Sponsorships: Establishing partnerships with local or national businesses.
- Capital Campaigns: Leading high-dollar, multi-year, or long-term fundraising initiatives.
- Human Resources
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilities/Project Management
- Technology
- Strategic-minded individuals with the ability to think big picture and long-term
- Ability to contribute time and energy through participation on the Board and its committees

Call For Nominations
In accordance with the Museum’s Bylaws, the Nominating Committee is responsible for recommending Directors for consideration to the Board of the Manitoba Children’s Museum for a term of two years to be followed by two renewal terms of two years each in length. The Committee is pleased to call for nominations to the Board of Directors for the term commencing June 2026.
