Down the Lane Artist Residency 2027, Melbourne, Australia (one month, March 2027)
Down the Lane Studios and Culture Focus are hosting one artist for a one-month residency in Collingwood, Melbourne, Australia, in March 2027. It is open to practising artists worldwide, in any discipline and at any career stage, including writers, playwrights and directors.
The residency provides:
- Return economy airfare to Melbourne
- A private room with its own bathroom, attached to the studio
- A private studio (about 6 x 6 m) and a separate workshop area. Both are open spaces without specialist equipment (no kilns or foundry)
- An A$500 production budget
- Introductions to the Melbourne arts community
- A closing open studio
- A visa support letter for international artists
There is no artist fee or living allowance. The artist keeps all rights to the work.
To apply, send one PDF with up to 10 images, a bio (up to 500 words), a CV (up to two pages) and a project plan (up to 1000 words). Applications must be in English and you must be able to stay in Melbourne for the full month. There is a non-refundable A$50 application fee, which goes towards running costs.
Applications close 20 December 2026. All applicants will be notified by 20 January 2027.
