Daisy Wu is a photo-based artist originally from Nantong, China, and currently based in Winnipeg on Treaty 1 territory. Her practice centres on analog photography and experimental film processes. Through photography, textiles, painting, installation, and video, she explores themes of family, migration, identity and belonging.
Alongside her artistic practice, Wu operates a photography studio where she specializes in branding, artwork documentation and portrait photography. She is also an educator who teaches photography and alternative process workshops, helping others develop both their creative vision and technical skills.

Once the foundations are in place, the next step is creating a career that can grow over time. This workshop explores how to set realistic short- and long-term goals by developing a 1-, 2- or 5-year career plan. Participants will also learn practical financial planning strategies, identify professional milestones, and build a personalized roadmap that supports both their artistic ambitions and long-term sustainability.
About the How to Start an Art Business workshop series
Are you fresh out of art school and wondering how to proceed? Or have you been making art for years, but want to monetize your practice? This three-part series is intended to help you to get your art business up and running. There is no “magic bullet” for financial success as an artist, but this series will help you lay the groundwork. Attend all three workshops or only those that interest you. The last half hour of every session will be devoted to your questions.
