Position Title: Marketing Content Coordinator
Term: Permanent, Full-Time – 35 hours/week
With one of North America’s premier outdoor music festivals as its signature event, the Winnipeg Folk Festival is a year-round, not-for-profit arts organization that presents live music and arts events designed to benefit the community.
The Winnipeg Folk Festival is seeking a motivated team member with a passion for arts & culture to join the marketing communications team.
The Marketing Content Coordinator supports the marketing and communications efforts of the Winnipeg Folk Festival, with a focus on graphic design, video creation and editing, website content management, and marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include providing graphic and design support across the organization; creating videos, graphics, and photo edits to promote activities, programs, and the festival; maintaining and updating website content to ensure it remains current and accessible; and creating ads while working with advertisers to effectively market the festival and year-round programming.
Responsibilities:
Design
– Graphic design, which includes print and online ads, the annual report, e-news and app assets, posters and various collateral materials, including but not limited to festival wristbands, passes, program guides, maps and merchandise.
– Create, edit and coordinate unique video content and graphic assets for marketing the festival and special events (e.g. Tickets on sale, lineup launch, wrap videos and concert series.)
– Coordinate the design of all Winnipeg Folk Festival merchandise.
– Manage the Festival’s photo & video database. Create yearly shot lists for the volunteer crews to support the goals and strategies of the festival.
– With the Marketing Communications Coordinator, support social media content development on all platforms, including, but not limited to Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram to deliver great customer service, develop brand awareness, drive online traffic and promote sales.
Marketing
– Manage and maintain all functionality on the festival website and ensure relevant and timely content is properly represented at all times.
– Research, recommend, implement and monitor digital marketing trends, online best practices and web-based technology, including search engine optimization, web analytics and program/campaign optimization. Support the analysis and reporting of online marketing metrics
– Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with marketing strategies, including advertising for the festival and year-round programming.
– Build and maintain positive relationships with partners and advertisers.
– Assist in the development of communications, including copywriting and proofreading.
– Act as staff liaison for assigned volunteer crews.
Qualifications:
– Post-Secondary degree in graphic design, communications or a combination of education/experience
– Demonstrated ability in graphic design, video and audio editing
– Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
– Advanced working knowledge of website content management systems
– Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Adobe Creative Cloud
– Advanced working knowledge of social media tools, mobile platforms, audio and video formats
– Strong project management skill and ability to manage changing priorities
– Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team
Assets:
– Experience with video and/or photography of live events
– Affinity to learn new technologies, methodologies and approaches
– Passion for live music
– Knowledge of the Winnipeg Folk Festival
– Bilingual English/French is an asset
Work Schedule
The hours of work generally fall between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, a 35-hour week with an unpaid lunch. There is a need for schedule flexibility related to evening and weekend events, concerts, and meetings with volunteers. During the festival, the selected candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
Compensation
Starting salary range for this position is: $42,240 to $51,280, commensurate with experience. Winnipeg Folk Festival has an excellent benefits plan.
