Position: Patron Service Coordinator
Type: Full-time, 35 hours a week
Shift: Tuesday to Saturday

The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is a dynamic musical force serving Manitobans with excellent musical opportunities and experiences. Celebrating its 76th anniversary, the WSO produces roughly 60 events and concerts per year, actively engaged in new program development, education and outreach, major concert series, and several festivals with the objective of delivering artistically excellent symphonic music at the highest level. The WSO operates with a staff of approximately 60 musicians, 24 full-time and part-time administrative and production personnel and is a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors.
Position:
Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Patron Service Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Box Office. This is a key position as Patron Services staff are WSO’s most direct contact with our audience. The Patron Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing Patron Service Representatives and maximizing WSO ticket sales through superior and efficient service while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Box Office.
Job Description: The Patron Services Coordinator key responsibilities:
- Oversee daily box office operations, supervise staff, provide training, maintain procedures, and assist with hiring.
- Ensure accurate financial reconciliation, proper cash-handling practices, and adherence to data protection policies.
- Manage ticketing functions including subscriptions, single tickets, exchanges/refunds, special programs, and prize letter donations.
- Maintain and update the patron database, ensuring accuracy and consistent formatting.
- Create and verify promotions, discounts, ticket pricing, maps, event details, and ensure all marketing materials are current.
- Prepare materials for direct mail campaigns and monitor office supply inventory and usage.
- Act as primary Front of House contact during events, directing staff/volunteers and resolving escalated patron or ticketing issues.
Qualifications:
– Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, great problem-solving creativity, and genuine love and enthusiasm for symphonic music.
– Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills.
– Must have significant working familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and database management, preferably Tessitura.
– Familiar with the WSO’s policies and procedures.
– Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
Additional Position Information:
This position requires work on occasional evenings and weekends.
Salary: Commensurate with experience. WSO staff are eligible for a full benefits plan including matching RRSP contribution program.
