Type: Full-time (35 Hours a Week)
Starting Date: Immediately
Salary: $40,000 to $48,000, commensurate with experience.

The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is a dynamic force serving Manitobans with excellent musical opportunities and experiences. The WSO produces more than 60 events and concerts per year. The WSO actively engages in program development, education and outreach, major concert series, and the Winnipeg new Music Festival with the objective of delivering artistically excellent symphonic music. The WSO operates with a staff of approximately 60 musicians and 24 full-time and part-time administrative and production personnel. It is a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors.

Position:

Supporting the Senior Director of Public Engagement and Facilities, this role supports the Marketing and Communication department and Development department in keeping these departments aligned, focused, and moving forward. The successful candidate will be involved in coordinating projects,
timelines, following up on deliverables and maintaining momentum across teams.  This position offers the opportunity to develop your skills and potentially transition into other roles within the organization over time.

Job Description:

Promotion and Advertising
1. Secure advertising for Concert Programs, including overseeing and following up on billing.
2. Coordinate advertising fulfilment for print and digital advertising.
3. Maintain WSO event listings and profile across community calendars, tourism sites, and arts platforms.
4. Support events and engagement initiatives that strengthen relationships with patrons and donors

Marketing & Communications
1. Support the development of key WSO communications materials, including brochures, programs, newsletters and annual reports.
2. Assist with updating website content and social media initiatives.
3. Monitor and respond to online audience reviews.

Administration and Reporting
1. Coordinate monthly Public Engagement reports, including digital analytics, earned media, and patron responses.
2. Create and manage purchase orders related to marketing, communications and development activities.
3. Support administrative processes that keep projects on track, including creating meeting agendas and taking minutes for weekly Public Engagement Meetings.

Artist & Media Asset Coordination
1. Maintain staff and ensemble information across digital platforms.
2. Coordinate artist biographies and photos for marketing materials.
3. Assist with concert photography and maintain the WSO photo and video library.
4. Coordinate marketing assets from concert partners.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 1 year experience in arts administration/management or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, education and experience will be considered.
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
3. Proficiency with email communication tools, social media platforms, website content management systems and purchase order processes.
4. Highly organized and deadline-oriented with effective planning abilities.
5. Creative, adaptable, and able to approach challenges with innovation and a sense of humour.
6. Collaborative team player who can take lead on projects and support colleagues as needed.
7. Flexible and willing to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
8. Knowledge of or interest in classical musician, the arts community, or the non-profit sector preferred.
9. Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software preferred.
