Pink Panda (they/she) is a street artist and painter based in Winnipeg on Treaty 1 Territory.  Working across chalk, spray paint, acrylics, and UV-reactive paint, their practice began with chalk drawings of original monster characters inspired by childhood imagination. Over time, their work has evolved into a deeper exploration of identity, expressed through vivid colour palettes and intricate line work rooted in mindfulness and the present moment.

In the warmer months, they can often be found longboarding around Winnipeg, leaving chalk drawings for passersby and performing live “pop-up” painting installations. These temporary art pieces embody their mantra of “Be in the moment” and serve as a reminder of the beauty in letting go.

Pink Panda has showcased their work in three solo exhibitions and several group shows. Beyond exhibiting their art, they enjoy sharing their passion as a guest artist at schools, organizations, events, and summer camps, engaging with audiences of all ages. Each summer, Pink Panda also hosts inclusive spray paint workshops, inviting participants to explore creativity in a welcoming environment.

I am an author, illustrator, and sociologist inspired by the conditions of the world around me. I believe that art never exists as a standalone piece, but rather is informed by and reproduces the world around it. My work highlights the complexities of human interpretation of the world and how perspectives differ based on social conditions. As such, I strive to take big ideas and break them down into consumable forms of media to make them more accessible to a wider audience, such as working through the comic medium, which forces a concise breakdown of text, while adding a visual element which is both attention-drawing and a secondary text in itself.
