The Golden Boys Audition Submission
Audition Notice:
Enigma Performance Company is on the search to cast 4 actors for our upcoming show, THE GOLDEN BOYS, which will be performed at this year’s 2026 Winnipeg Fringe Festival. THE GOLDEN BOYS is inspired by the hit TV show The Golden Girls and the live show The Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue.
We’re looking to cast folks between the ages of 25-60, who will be playing characters aged 50-90. If you’re slightly outside of the range, apply anyways! Open to all genders and ethnicities!
Character Breakdown:
SAM PETRO (89) – Old, blunt, widowed. Wants to spend more time with his son Devin, but also craves more independence (ie: running his own errands, doing his own work) He wants to have more independence, Hates being treated like a relic. Born in Poland, moved to Winnipeg, lived in the North End and now they live in Charles-wood. Still grieving his wife, even though it’s been over 10 years.

DEVIN PETRO (65) – Bitter, brilliant, exhausted. Substitute drama teacher. Born in the North End, then lived in downtown Winnipeg, and now they live in Charles-wood. Wonders if he will ever act professionally again, loves to sing and dance.
BLAKE DAWSON (58) – Gay, vain, emotionally dramatic. Terrified of aging and being alone. Uses sex appeal as currency. Calls himself a “Call Boy” because “escorts feels unionized.” Originally from Minnedosa. Struggles with the dating scene, men are trash, but the good ones, he pushes away or loses.
ROSS NEPETA-TASSELFLOWER (62) – Sweet idiot. Thinks sincerity fixes everything. Loves to tell stories. Accidentally ruins lives with paperwork. Originally from St. Malo. Wants to do more for animals in Winnipeg, loves cats, dogs and birds.
Auditions will be held March 26th, and 27th in the evening. Callbacks will be March 28th.
