Calls for Submissions

The Winnipeg Folk Fest will take place July 9-12, 2026 in Birds Hill Provincial Park. Be a part of the Prairie Outdoor Exhibition — an interactive outdoor gallery. We look for visual artists to exhibit their work in this beautiful natural setting and experience a truly unique outdoor gallery. Here’s your chance to create something that will inspire and engage our audience!

Our theme for 2025 is “Under the Prairie Sun”

Under the Prairie Sun invites visitors into an immersive celebration of connection, warmth, and the playful energy that defines the Winnipeg Folk Festival spirit. This exhibition transforms the gallery into a living ecosystem — where nature, music, and community dance together in radiant harmony.

We invite you to submit proposals that explore and celebrate the theme as well as other project ideas that would be positive additions to the site.

Work can be installed in open fields, trees, tents, or on fences. Considerations should include safety, ease of installation and removal, lasting impact on the natural environment, and the ability of the work to withstand sun, wind, rain, and curious patrons/children. Artists are responsible for installing and removing work.
