Graffiti Art Programming Inc. (GAP) is hiring for the position of Virtual Program Coordinator. This is a term position that will run from March 2, 2026 through September 11, 2026. Expected maximum hours are 350-400, to be worked throughout the length of the contract. The Virtual Program Coordinator will oversee a virtual/hybrid Community Hip Hop Program co-created by GAP and Unity Charity. The key objective of this role is to ensure the success of the program’s operations and the timely and professional performance of administrative and partner stewardship tasks. In addition, the Virtual Program Coordinator will manage and support on the ground drop-in programs with local artist educators.
As an advocate and representative of GAP and Unity Charity’s values, the candidate will engage and mentor youth through Hip Hop arts programming, with a focus on resiliency and mental health. The candidate will conduct weekly reports which include capturing photos and videos of the program, administering program surveys, documenting attendance, collecting registration information, and compiling participant and facilitator feedback. The Virtual Program Coordinator is also expected to actively research new potential partners and collaborate to identify and develop cross-program promotional opportunities.
Accountabilities Summary:
– Program Management and Administration: Manage and administer GAPxUnity program; synthesize, analyze, and respond to data collected; report to and work alongside GAP and Unity leadership.
– Budget Maintenance: Accurately design, follow and report on program budgets; responsibly steward funds while reaching program goals; input all expenses through Unity Charity’s payment structure.
– Program and Curriculum Design: In collaboration with artist facilitators, design new, creative, flexible and sustainable curriculums that share the culture of Hip Hop while focusing on improving mental health and resiliency in young people’s lives.
– Communications: Provide vision and strategic leadership; develop and implement local outreach and communications for all stakeholders in partnership with Unity Charity’s Marketing and Communications team.
– Artist Facilitator Management: Support artist facilitators to understand program goals and requirements; train staff on use of technical equipment; provide supportive and constructive feedback.
– Recruitment: Recruit program participants; perform community outreach; facilitate participants access to technology; act as main point of contact for registration and onboarding.
– Support: Support with other GAP programming initiatives as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
– 2-3 years of experience in Program Management or related field
– Previous experience in youth work, non-profit work, or community work
– Previous experience in virtual delivery of programs and events
– Demonstrated skills in community engagement and ability to work within an anti-oppressive framework
– Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, reliable and demonstrated capacity to work as part of a team, and the ability to take direction and to self-direct
– Literacy with Zoom, Google Suite
– Experience in the Hip Hop community, knowledge of Hip Hop culture and its related art forms is considered an asset
– Experience with arts-based facilitation is considered an assett
– Valid class 5 driver’s licence and access to a car is preferred
– The successful candidate will be required to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check and child abuse registry check
