Winnipeg Public Library is seeking applications to be the 2026-2027 Writer-in-Residence.
The Writer-in-Residence works with emerging Manitoba writers through individual consultations online, in person, by email and by phone. The Writer-in-Residence also offers group workshops and a writing circle. The residency includes time to work on a personal writing project and an office at Millennium Library.
The program is offered province-wide thanks to the support of the Manitoba Sport, Culture, Heritage and Tourism.
The residency will begin October 1, 2026 and run for seven months, subject to funding. The Writer-in-Residence will spend at least 15 hours per week on public consultation work. The remaining weekly hours are for programs and time to work on their own writing.
