The Directors Guild of Canada – Manitoba District Council (DGC Manitoba) is seeking a friendly, organized and adaptable individual to join our small team as a part-time Communications, Outreach & Administrative Assistant.
This is a varied role combining communications, industry and Member outreach, and general administrative support. The successful candidate will help with day-to-day office operations while also assisting with DGC Manitoba’s communications, social media, events, Member engagement and relationships within Manitoba’s film and television community.
As one of the first points of contact for our office, you will regularly communicate with a wide variety of DGC Members, filmmakers, production personnel, industry partners and members of the public. We are therefore looking for someone who is professional, approachable, friendly and comfortable communicating with many different types of people.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong organizational, administrative and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Comfort working with Adobe applications, social media platforms and other digital tools and technology as required
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment
- A friendly, professional and collaborative approach to working with Members, colleagues and industry partners
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a small, collaborative team
- Knowledge of and/or an appreciation for Manitoba’s local film and television industry is preferred
Position Details
This is a permanent part-time, in-office position based in Winnipeg.
Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some overtime and occasional evening/weekend work as required.
Compensation: DGC Manitoba offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a full benefits package.
The successful candidate will work closely with DGC Manitoba staff and will have the opportunity to interact with and support Members and organizations throughout Manitoba’s film and television community.
