Development Officer, Corporate Relations

Position:
Working as part of an integrated and collaborative Public Engagement team, the Development Officer, Corporate Relations will report to the Associate Director of Development. This role is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive corporate relations program that encompasses both
corporate donations and sponsorships. This position will also offer support to the WSO’s Capital Campaign activities as necessary.

Job Description:
The Development Officer, Corporate Relations plays a key role within a dynamic team that meets or exceeds annual revenue targets and supports fundraising initiatives. Behind every meaningful donor and sponsorship experience is thoughtful coordination, strong stewardship systems, and exceptional relationship care; this position will help bring all three together, strengthening both corporate donation and sponsorship activities and operations. Some duties will include:
1. Collaborating with the Associate Director of Development on the development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive sponsorship program, as well as a corporate giving program.
2. Establish frameworks and standards for recognition, engagement, and fulfillment activities for both sponsorship and corporate donations.
3. Be responsible for the execution of contractual sponsor benefits fulfillment and recognition deliverables for both sponsorship and corporate donations.
4. Help develop and oversee the execution of sponsorship materials, including proposals, impact reports, recognition pieces, and engagement communications.
5. Maintain systems and processes that track corporate interactions and recognition deliverables.
6. Ensure accurate documentation of corporate engagement in Tessitura.
7. Collaborate with the Development team to create, and be the key point person to execute all
aspects of any sponsorship related events (i.e.: onsite activations or receptions).
8. Contribute to campaign planning in terms of corporate giving activities.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Minimum 3 years experience in a fundraising role, preferably within the arts sector.
2. CFRE designation desired; AFP Membership and commitment to ongoing professional development required.
3. Current knowledge of fund development theory, principles, ethics and practices.
4. Knowledge of the performing arts, and the ability to work within a high pressure environment with multiple deadlines.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
6. Proficiency with email communication tools, social media platforms, website content management systems and purchase order processes.
7. Highly organized and deadline-oriented with effective planning abilities.
8. Creative, adaptable, and able to approach challenges with innovation and a sense of humour.
9. Collaborative team player who can take lead on projects and support colleagues as needed.
10. Flexible and willing to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
11. Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software preferred.
