So many different aspects contribute to the live theatre-going experience, and lighting and visuals are no small part! Designers and artists Hugh Conacher and Anika Binding recently participated in the Professional Mentorship Program and shared some of their insights with us.

No matter the discipline, the creative process is a process! Professional mentorship can help artists work through creative blocks, bounce ideas off each other and share knowledge gained in years of experience in the arts. Playwrights Ellen Peterson and Sarah Flynn recently completed the Professional Mentorship Program through Creative Manitoba and shared a few of the highlights with us!

Mentorship pair Erin McGrath and Rhea Rodych-Rasidescu took part in our Professional Mentorship Program in theatre for young audiences. Erin was able to provide networking opportunities for Rhea with artistic directors from different theatre companies.

Mentorship pair Alissa Watson and Jean van der Merwe took part in our Professional Mentorship Program in physical theatre and clown.

Suzie Martin has been the Artistic Director of Theatre Projects Manitoba since April 1, 2022. She is a Director and sometimes Dramaturg, who is admittedly obsessed with the mechanics of storytelling.

Mentorship pair Cherissa Richards and Zanifa Rasool took part in our Professional Mentorship Program in theatre entrepreneurship, acting and directing.

Mentorship pair Ari Weinberg and Jessica McGlynn took part in our Professional Mentorship Program in directing for the theatre.

Heather and Emily participated in the 2021/2022 Professional Mentorship Program with a focus on the art of prop building and painting.
