Winnipeg’s theatre community is looking for people to work behind the scenes. Your experience in carpentry, sewing, painting, design, technology, organization or another creative or technical field could be the beginning of a career in theatre.
The community also needs people who are ready to learn, develop new skills and begin building a career backstage.
Backstage Theatre Career Discovery Day is a free, full-day event for people interested in applying their existing skills in a new setting, exploring backstage work as a career or returning to the industry. You’ll tour PTE and Royal MTC, attend demonstrations and speak directly with people working in Winnipeg’s theatre community.
Who should attend?
- Emerging theatre workers, or people with previous backstage training or experience
- Anyone with transferable skills in creative, technical, administration or skilled-trades fields
- Anyone who is interested in learning the skills needed to pursue backstage work
