Mentorship

Brenda Gorlick is a Winnipeg-based director, choreographer, performer, and educator whose professional career spans over fifty years across Manitoba, Canada, and internationally. Her work encompasses musical theatre, dance, performance, and arts education, with a lasting impact on professional training and inclusive arts practice. She has been affiliated with leading institutions including Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Stratford Festival of Canada, and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.

Brenda served for over 20 years as Head of Musical Theatre at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, developing a program whose graduates perform on Broadway and international stages. In 2004, she founded Winnipeg Studio Theatre's StudioWorks Academy providing advanced triple-threat instruction to emerging artists.

Her commitment to accessibility led to the creation of All Abilities Dancers with Manitoba Possible and AIM 4 ALL – All Inclusive Musicals, the first program of its kind in Manitoba. Brenda leads the Dancing with Parkinson’s program with U-Turn Parkinson’s Manitoba.

In film, Brenda Gorlick has had principal roles in multiple Hallmark films. Her choreography credits include Seance, Time Cut, and the forthcoming feature November: 1963, as well as award-winning indies: If It Ain’t Got That and These Four Walls. A dedicated arts advocate, she was part of Creative Manitoba’s inaugural youth mentorship program and continues to serve as a mentor.

Brenda's honours include the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Honour Roll, Winnipeg Arts Council Career Achievement Award, YMCA/YWCA Women of Distinction, and Rainbow Stage's Wall of Fame. She continues to be a driving force in Manitoba’s performing arts community as an artist, mentor, and advocate for inclusive excellence.

I am a freelance pattern drafter, cutter, tailor, stitcher and general textile person. I mostly specialize in for trade era and war of 1812 British clothing, but I’ve also explored several different time periods, including the modern era. I work individual clients, historic sites as well as theater and film productions.

Jordan Miller, a Winnipeg artist, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba in 2002. She holds a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Winnipeg. She was the founder and owner of Cre8ery Gallery & studio for 18.5 years before closing May 1, 2025 to become a full-time artist and mentor.

​Jordan was the recipient of the 35th Annual Woman of Distinction Award in the Arts Category (2011). She was one of three finalists for the Future Leaders Of Manitoba Awards (2015).

​​Jordan has exhibited at Pulse Gallery, Birchwood Art Gallery, Fleet Galleries, cre8ery, Gallery Lacosse, Urban Shaman Gallery, Gallery 111, outworks, Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba Gift Shop, Gallery in the Park, Prairie Fusion, 210 Gallery, Wasagaming Community Arts, and Golden Prairie Arts Council.

​​Jordan is a member of Creative Manitoba, Manitoba Arts Network, Artists AccessAbility Network Manitoba and Mentoring Art for Women’s Art (MAWA). She is a mentor with MAWA's Mentor on the Fly Program. Jordan is collected across Canada, the United States, and in several countries around the world.  She is collected by the Province of Manitoba and by Winnipeg incorporated businesses.
