Calls for Submissions

New for 2026/27, we have two training labs available:

Performing Arts Training Lab

The program includes:

• 9 weeks of biweekly group classes in dance technique, artistic creation, and acting

• private voice lessons with one of our lead instructors

• Masterclasses in specialized topics led by artists across Canada

Participants will be introduced to a variety of artistic practices, methods of creation, and dance styles every week. Artists will have the opportunity to perform throughout the year, including an end-of-program cabaret and as performers in our 2027 Creation Lab showcase.

Creation Lab

The program includes:

• eight weeks of biweekly group sessions and open studio time

• Masterclasses in specialized topics led by artists across Canada

• A platform to showcase new plays, musicals, and creative works

The Creation Lab will offer prairie playwrights, composers, and choreographers eight weeks of development on their works-in-progress alongside professional mentors. The Lab will culminate in a showcase of each participant’s creation as part of our 2027 Inhibition Exhibition Festival of New Works. We encourage creators from across disciplines to apply.

The Village Conservatory for Music Theatre is committed to providing high-quality alternative music theatre education in Manitoba. This is accomplished through an emphasis on strong triple threat fundamentals and applying those fundamentals to the process of creation and collaboration. Above all, the ViC believes in the power of multidisciplinary art and strives to help students explore different ways to express themselves.
