Available exclusively to Creative Manitoba members, the Arts Admin Coaching program will provide access to personalized one-on-one coaching with arts professionals. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced arts administrators are all welcome!
The program runs from May 1 – June 30 and sessions are offered at subsidized rates. Sign up for one session at $30 for an hour with a coach or choose a bundle package for reduced pricing. 2 sessions for $50, 3 sessions for $75, or 4 sessions for $100.
If you are a new or emerging organization, or your organization does not have a professional development budget, please contact training@creativemanitoba.ca to access further subsidies for this program.
Terms and conditions
- The program is only available to Creative Manitoba Members. If your organization has a membership but you are unsure how to log in, please email admin@creativemanitoba.ca to set up an associate membership.
- All sessions must take place online through the Creative Manitoba Mentorly online portal, instructions will follow after registration.
- All sessions must be completed by June 30. Refunds will not be given if you are unable to fill your sessions within the timeframe.
Coaches:
Albert McLeod, Indigenous Cultural Facilitator
Albert McLeod, is a community leader sharing his knowledge of New Media art and Indigenous Cultural Teachings, how to work respectfully with Indigenous Protocols and ceremony within your art or curatorial practice, how to decolonize the art world and a well lauded multi-media artist. Albert hails from northern Manitoba, with a blended heritage of Scottish Hudson’s Bay Company immigrant and Woodland Cree. The roots of his work are based in traditional hand work, beading, sewing, and leather work. All knowledge passed down from his Grandmother and Mentor, a highly accomplished Cree textile artist and knowledge keeper. Today, Albert brings his art training, photography skills, and knowledge of Indigenous art and design, to a new level, while embracing a more modern approach through the use of computer technology and online platforms to manage his career. While Albert’s primary career path has focused on community development in the Indigenous sector, it is his art training that has been instrumental in elevating his work life successfully into the 21st Century.

Jonathan Le, Project Management/Video Production
Jonathan currently works on developing and implementing advanced training solutions for the technology sector at New Media Manitoba. He manages projects and partnerships both large and small and enjoys finding processes to do more with less. Jonathan’s entire professional career has involved learning new technologies and managing the teams who will use them. He also has extensive experience in video post-production, producing as well as growing knowledge of live-streaming. Jonathan’s goal with this mentorship program is to help arts administrators work towards achieving their creative visions by getting organized, communicating effectively, and using the right digital tools.

Story Point Consulting (Roxanne Tackie and Rochelle Greaves), Grants and Fundraising
Rochelle Greaves and Roxanne Tackie own a fundraising consultancy called Story Point Consulting. Their specific expertise is training and coaching in the areas of grant writing, donor acquisition, donor retention, and fundraising strategy. Whether you’re looking for help writing/strengthening a grant application; or, finding/improving relationships with donors, Story Point’s approach is sharing practical guidance and strategies that can be implemented easily, even for the “non-fundraiser”.

Cheryl Baldwin, Finances
Cheryl launched her bookkeeping firm, BCP Business Services back in 2015. By the end of 2020, she had grown her team to 10 staff and over a half-million on sales and climbing rapidly. She loves helping businesses and non-profits grow and does so through her business, one and one advisory work, and training. Mentoring others to achieve their dreams is a natural fit.

Jorge Requena Ramos, Digital Content and Video Production
Jorge Requena Ramos is a multi-disciplinary artist who came to Winnipeg from Mexico city. He has done extensive work in film, broken boundaries with experimental theatre, and performed all over the world with “The Mariachi Ghost”. As an arts administrator, Jorge has supported the creation of hundreds of films, helped run film festivals, and is now the Artistic Director of the West End Cultural Centre.

Kristen Einarson, Social Media and Marketing
Kristen Einarson is a freelance communications professional based in Winnipeg, MB. She has worked in communications for the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Manitoba Museum, and the federal government. She has mentored in social media marketing for Manitoba Music and Creative Manitoba and works as a freelance publicist for several Winnipeg bands and comedians. She takes her coffee black and frequently forgets she’s wearing mascara. When Kristen is not creating marketing strategies and dynamic social content, she is a stand-up comedian who has performed in the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Rumor’s Comedy Club, won the 2020 So You Think You Can Host contest at Comedy at the Handsome Daughter, and has even produced and hosted her own open mic. Kristen’s combination of marketing communications knowledge coupled with her experience as a performer gives her a unique edge to work as your creative industry mentor.

Cancellation policy
Creative Manitoba reserves the right to cancel or postpone any event where a minimum registration level has not been met. Participants registered for an event that is cancelled by Creative Manitoba will receive a full refund.
Registrants may cancel up to one week before the event to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued to registrants who cancel within one week of the event start date. No refunds will be issued for registrants who do not attend.
Substitute participants are allowed in most cases, but not all. Please check with us ahead of time if you wish to send a substitute participant by calling 204-927-2787.
