A musical survey of some of the best big bands through the last 100 years. To demonstrate the development of big band music through the years, the WJO will perform various tunes made famous by many great big bands – starting with the earliest jazz bands of King Oliver and Buddy Bolden through the golden years with Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Charlie Barnett, Woody Herman and Stan Kenton to the latest charts.
