Artist Boot Camp: Making Your Art Accessible with Jenel Shaw
Thursday, February 20 | 7 to 9:30 pm | Online
So you’ve just finished your latest piece of creative work and you’re extremely excited to share it with the world. Fabulous! But have you considered how people with different abilities than your own may experience your work?
Join Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba Executive Director Jenel Shaw as she addresses how artists can make their work more accessible to the Deaf and disability communities. This session will discuss image descriptions, the use of QR codes, outreach and much more, to enhance accessibility and broaden your audience. Discussion will include all types of artmaking, including visual art, music, poetry and performance.
Within a couple of weeks of broadcast, the workshop will be available with captioning at mawa.ca/videos/professional-advice.
