You are invited to a lively afternoon gathering for non-profit service providers and community arts practitioners, hosted by Creative Manitoba and the Manitoba Federation of Non-Profits!
We’ll begin with a lunch presentation highlighting local stories of the transformative power of the arts. Next, we’ll break the ice with some arts-based fun! Then we’ll talk in small groups about what we need to collaborate. Are there ways that Creative Manitoba and the Manitoba Federation of Non-Profit Organizations can open more doors? The session will end with a facilitated full group debrief. Following the gathering, a short report will be shared with participants.
This gathering is for:
Community-engaged arts practitioners; arts organizations who are delivering programs supporting social change; and for non-profit service providers working with or within:
- healthcare settings
- educational institutions
- the justice system
- newcomers; refugees; New Canadians; and ethno-cultural communities
- marginalized populations such as Indigenous and LGBTTQ+ people
- families, children and youth
- older adults and seniors
- activist groups
- specific geographical communities
Participants will:
- recognize how the arts have the unique ability intersect all sectors
- discover what arts-engaged practices are and imagine how they can be used in their organizations’ contexts
- experience fun arts-based activities
- form new business relationships for possible future projects—Bring your print materials and business cards for 50 people and we’ll set up the tables!
