DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
The Digital Engagement Coordinator is a member of a dynamic team responsible for developing, implementing, analyzing, and reporting on initiatives that grow audiences, support ticket sales and donation targets, and strengthen community engagement.
Reporting to the Manager of Digital Marketing & Engagement, the Coordinator supports digital marketing activities for the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO), Winnipeg New Music Festival (WNMF), and the Pantages Performing Arts Centre (PPAC), including websites, social
media, digital advertising, and the WSO TO GO mobile application.
The Coordinator collaborates across departments to implement digital initiatives that support concerts, events, fundraising campaigns, education and community engagement programs, and other organizational priorities. The Digital Engagement Coordinator is creative with strong communication skills, marketing and design knowledge, and excellent attention to detail. They are collaborative, organized, and comfortable handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General
• Participates in the upgrading, updating, maintenance of, and reporting on the WSO, WNMF and PPAC websites and WSO TO GO application
• Contributes to the development of content for, scheduling, posting, and tracking of, and reporting on social media for the WSO (including Sistema), WNMF and PPAC
• Supports the execution and evaluation of digital advertising campaigns and promotional and advertising assets
• Assists with reporting on monthly web, app, social media, and advertising activities
Content & Collaboration – 20%
• Contributes to a digital content calendar to accommodate review by content experts and the appropriate WSO and PPAC colleagues and to ensure timely execution
• Attends public, educational, and behind-the-scenes events to gather, develop, and distribute digital content for various audiences, ensuring adherence to the WSO and PPAC style guides, brand standards, and communications guidelines
• Collaborates with colleagues to identify opportunities to build relationships with existing patrons, cultivate new audience participation, elevate awareness, and support sales initiatives
• Participates in maintaining the consistency of the WSO and PPAC digital voice and identifying target personas
Websites & Mobile App – 20%
• Participates in all activity related to the WSO, WNMF, and PPAC websites, including regular website audits to ensure functionality, relevance, and accuracy
• Supports the updating and integration of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and Winnipeg New Music Festival websites
• Contributes to the development of websites for the PPAC Capital Campaign and the Pantages Performing Arts Centre, optimizing its profile and positioning it as a significant performance and event venue
• Contributes to the maintenance of the WSO TO GO mobile application and the development of the digital Overture and other concert programs
Social Media – 30%
• Participates in the implementation and evaluation of social media campaigns
• Keeps abreast of social media trends and best practices
• Monitors social media channels and responds to questions and comments
• Contributes to the development of various types of content (posts, stories, reels, etc.) in various formats (images, slides, video) for various platforms
• Supports social media advertising initiatives
Photography – 20%
• Collaborates with the Associate Director of Marketing & Communications to develop shot lists to ensure the WSO and PPAC photograph and video library contains images reflecting the full scope of the WSO and PPAC activities on and off the stage
• Captures and coordinates the capturing of high-quality event, promotional, documentary, and behind-the-scenes photography and video content for digital, print, archival, and reporting purposes
• Files photographs and videos and maintains the digital image library
Reporting – 10%
Participates in reporting on all digital activities as directed by the Manager of Digital
Marketing & Engagement, including:
• Monitoring analytics and other KPIs, and developing detailed and summarized reports related to WSO and PPAC initiatives and campaigns
• Maintaining Month-over-Month and Year-over-Year comparisons
Other
• Other duties as reasonably assigned
• Normal work week – 35 hours per week. Evening and weekend work will be required
QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree or diploma in Communications or Marketing, Arts Management, or combination of training and experience.
• Experience in a mid-size organization, with knowledge of or experience in the arts community and/or not-for-profit sector
• Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging social media, website, and digital advertising trends and best practices
• Results-driven; deadline-oriented; with solid planning and organizational skills
• Creative, with a sense of humour and an ability to respond innovatively to issues as they arise;
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Team player with the confidence to take the lead on projects and a willingness to assist colleagues when needed
• Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, scheduling and analytics tools, and website content management systems
• Competent photography and videography skills with associated knowledge of Photoshop/Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Audacity, and/or other media and design software
• Willingness and ability to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends
