Hope McIntyre

Hope McIntyre is an award winning playwright and director. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Winnipeg Department of Theatre and Film and also teaches through the Walls to Bridges program in correctional centres. Her training includes a BFA in performance from the University of Saskatchewan and an MFA in directing from the University of Victoria. She was the founding Artistic Director of Sarasvàti Productions, a company dedicated to social change that she helmed for 22 years. During this tenure she developed multiple new theatrical works, produced FemFest (an annual festival), worked as a dramaturg for emerging playwrights, and developed community-based play creation methods.
Hope is former Chair of The Women’s Caucus and former President of the Playwrights Guild of Canada. She has received the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, the Bra D’Or, the Women Helping Women Award, the Mahatma Gandhi Social Change Award, and the University of Winnipeg Arts Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2023 she published the e-book The Business of Theatre: Pathways to a Career in Theatre.

Urban Shaman: Contemporary Indigenous Art

Urban Shaman Contemporary Indigenous Art is a charitable, not-for-profit artist-run centre located on Treaty 1 territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Urban Shaman is an Indigenous led gallery that presents contemporary Indigenous art with integrity while remaining rooted in our diverse Indigenous cultures.
Founded in 1996, Urban Shaman continues to be a nationally recognized leader in Indigenous arts programming and one of the foremost venues and voices for Indigenous art in Canada. Urban Shaman is dedicated to the Indigenous arts community and arts community at large.

Wild Roots Theatre

Founded in 1991, Wild Roots Theatre is a Winnipeg-based, incorporated charitable theatre organization dedicated to environmental education through performance—what we proudly call "Theatre for the Planet". Starting out as activists, we have grown to offer programming for kids, families and the general public, creating participatory theatrical experiences that make environmental and community issues feel real, urgent, and personal.
We explore environmental science through theatre, allowing participants to imagine, empathize and laugh, all while understanding the serious issues we face. We inspire audiences and participants to be gentler on our planet, giving them both hope and accountability through meaningful yet simple changes in daily habits, with tangible goals. Our programming is informative, realistic, and optimistic, emphasizing community spirit and individual action, with the message that every little bit of help is an invaluable contribution.
Through love of theatre -story, play, and emotional engagement- we elicit connection and real action. We aim to create artistic, engaging and memorable theatrical experiences that promote environmental stewardship and empower people of all ages to participate in climate protection. Amine Hob

A graduate of the School of Fine Arts, Amine Hob has built his artistic path through diverse creative experiences. Passionate about visual storytelling, he now focuses on digital illustration and 2D animation. He has created several animated works that combine strong graphic design with visual narrative.  His work has been recognized at a national level, including an award in digital creation. His artistic universe blends high visual standards with contemporary exploration.

Brittany Lagassé

Brittany Lagassé (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist and has worked professionally in theatre, music, dance and comedy.
She began collaborating with others professionally in 2013, creating ‘Make/Shift Theatre’ with university pals Kristian Jordan and Elio Zarrillo. They wrote, produced and acted in original plays inspired by mediums outside the realm of theatre, from graphic novels to albums.
As Brittany continued to act and produce original work, her curiosity and love for music continued to grow. BUNNY was born: a ukulele-comedy duo she performed with Heather Thomas (of Diaphanie). Their comedic shows blended theatre and music and they found themselves catapulting into the comedy scene, performing for The Winnipeg Comedy Festival and The SheDot Festival in Toronto.
Ten years after meeting backstage at a BUNNY show, Brittany and Mario Lagassé are partners in love and music, supporting each other in their respective artistic projects. Their first co-creation being the musical for kids, ‘Croakinole & Croakette.’ This pair of lively frogs sing, dance and hop their way through music of all genres, and have performed at Bike & Circuses (Green Kids 2024), The Winnipeg Fringe Festival (2025) and The Frog Follies Festival (2025).
Outside of music and creation, Brittany has performed and worked on several local theatre productions. Some of her favourite theatre credits include Love & Information (Company Link, 2021), Crazy Bone (Theatre Projects Manitoba, 2018) and Deserter (Moving Target Theatre, 2018).
