My name is Chris Friesen.  I’m a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with over ten years of teaching experience, offering innovative guitar lessons in Winnipeg.

I’m on a mission to teach music differently.  I believe that music is a language, and like any language it is learned best through creativity and exploration.

My aim is always to teach while keeping my student’s musical freedom intact.  As a guitar teacher I try to give my students the tools and understanding needed to teach themselves.  My ultimate goal is to nurture the artist in every student.

I offer guitar lessons, bass lessons, banjo lessons, and ukulele lessons out of my home studio in Winnipeg, and I also offer lessons where I come to you.  I also offer small group guitar lessons.

I teach both children and adults, and can teach children as young as 6.

PRICES

60 min: $45

30 min: $30

Travel Charge: for lessons where I come to your home to teach I charge a travel fee of $20 to cover travel time and fuel costs.

Group Guitar Lessons

12 week program: $240 ($20 per lesson)

Arcane Studios serves as a hub for musicians and artists to come together and rehearse, collaborate, record, broadcast or showcase their work.

Originally from Northern Ontario, Kelsey began her career with the Geraldton Music Jamboree and graduated from the Music Business Management program at Durham College in 2009. Since then, she has spent time with various companies such as RGK Entertainment, CARAS / The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts, Paquin Artists Agency, and Birthday Cake Media. Currently, Kelsey operates Swamper Entertainment, her own admin, logistics, and artist consulting business, where she offers structure, clarity, and execution to complex projects—especially live events, touring, and multi-stakeholder initiatives. Newly appointed as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Manitoba Music, Kelsey brings with her over 20 years of industry experience and is deeply committed to artist development and advocacy for fair policy, wellness, and safe, sustainable careers.
