In this discussion, Mike will cover how to expand and grow your shows without breaking the bank. Tips on how to play larger venues, how to save money on the road, advertising in new markets, and developing a product that is appealing to roadhouse venues. Be sure to sign up for this frank conversation about money, mistakes, and the best ways to get out of your comfort zone and grow your comedy.

Mike Delamont is a stand-up comedian and actor from the West Coast of Canada. He’s been a trainer with the BC Touring Council for many years helping emerging artists navigate the world of self-producing. Mike began his career playing small 50 seat black box venues and now regularly plays 700 seat theatres across North America. He is a three-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee and has won more than 25 Best of the Fest awards for his work on the North American Fringe Circuit. Best known for his hit one-man show God Is A Scottish Drag Queen, the production has now spawned two stand-alone sequels as well as a Christmas special. God Is A Scottish Drag Queen began in a small 60 seat cafe in 2011 and now tours internationally selling more than 50,000 tickets a year. He has appeared on the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, Investors Group Comedy Tour, CBC’s The Debaters, Just For Laughs, and around the world with Holland America.

Cancellation policy
Creative Manitoba reserves the right to cancel or postpone any event where a minimum registration level has not been met. Participants registered for an event that is cancelled by Creative Manitoba will receive a full refund.
Registrants may cancel up to one week before the event to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued to registrants who cancel within one week of the event start date. No refunds will be issued for registrants who do not attend.
Substitute participants are allowed in most cases, but not all. Please check with us ahead of time if you wish to send a substitute participant by calling 204-927-2787.
