In this presentation, award-winning comedy writer Diana Frances will give a brief overview of her own career path and will answer questions such as: Can I get TV work without an agent? What kind of experience and content do you need to get an agent? What happens once I get an agent? Now that you’re in a room, what the heck do you do/don’t do? How do you make yourself invaluable? What are common mistakes? How to build a reputation that will help you get your next gig.
This workshop is FREE to attend, but you must register by 4pm CST on Nov 22 and a zoom link will be sent to you by 6pm CST
Diana Frances is an award-winning comedy writer from Vancouver who now calls Toronto home. She won a Canadian Screen Award for her writing on Corner Gas: Animated, for which she was also nominated for a Writer’s Guild of Canada Award. Diana is an alumni of the Canadian Film Centre’s Primetime TV Writing Program and is an in demand story editor. She has written for JFL’s Galas, the Canadian Screen Awards, The Banff Rockie Awards, Canada’s Ultimate Challenge, The Debaters (CBC Radio), The Beaverton and much more. As an accomplished improv comedian, Diana has been nominated for 8 Canadian Comedy Awards and has entertained our Canadian Peacekeepers in Bosnia, Egypt and Afghanistan.

Creative Manitoba reserves the right to cancel or postpone any event where a minimum registration level has not been met. Participants registered for an event that is cancelled by Creative Manitoba will receive a full refund.
Registrants may cancel up to one week before the event to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued to registrants who cancel within one week of the event start date. No refunds will be issued for registrants who do not attend.
Substitute participants are allowed in most cases, but not all. Please check with us ahead of time if you wish to send a substitute participant by calling 204-927-2787.
